Since we were gone for a good portion of the month of August, I couldn't convince Benton to go anywhere for Labor Day, so we had a family fun weekend in Dallas. I must say, it was great to be home for a change!
Amy had the whole weekend off, so we spent Saturday at Grammy and Pawpa's pool with her. We grilled and Amy made cupcakes, which were of course a big hit with Haven!

Monday was absolutely gorgeous, so we went to check out the festivities at Lakewood.
Haven wasn't too sure about going anywhere, so she was stalling out on the front porch by herself.
We convinced her to go because we told her they would probably have ice cream. So, she got in the car happily and then cried hysterically about ice cream the entire 5 minute drive, making it feel like 45 minutes. I guess she thought the ice cream was in the car?
Things finally started looking up once she was "all done crying" and we found the missing ice cream!
She had been on food strike most of the day (and most of Sunday too), but easily made up for it this meal...one ice cream sandwich, one hot dog, macaroni and cheese, and a loaf(ish) of bread. Talk about a Labor Day meal of champions!
