Sandestin 2011 - The Final Chapter

We took our final Destin trip for the year during Benton's "Summer Break" and it was a great, low-key trip - the perfect way to end the summer. Our travels started out a little rocky with an unpleasant experience with the TSA people on power trips, followed by a meltdown from Haven immediately after getting on the plane because she wanted her own seat, but we overcame them both and made it.

Once again, we left early Tuesday morning, stopped for lunch and got to the condo just in time for Haven's nap. Once she was up, we headed down to the beach and write this down...

Haven sat and played in the sand!!
She is still far from loving it (if you can't tell by her left hand), but if she continues to make these big improvements, she just might like it by the end of next summer.

We did end up spending most of our time with Haven at the pool since she is so high-maintenance about the sand.
Morning snack by the pool

By August, swimming had kind of lost it's thrill since that is pretty much all we had done all summer, so we took a break one day and went shopping and to the splash park.

Where did the water go?

Headed out to the beach
The water was absolutely gorgeous while we were there
"Cheese" in the elevator
Dancing with Grammy at Elmo's
Another day at the beach
"Cheese Mom!"

Heading home

We owe a huge "Thank you" to Grammy for going with us on this trip. Thanks to her, Benton and I were able to spend a fair amount of time down at the beach by ourselves, go on a dinner date, and go see a movie - what a treat!
