Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas

This was our year to be with the Hyatts for Christmas. So we were at home for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, but had an 11:30am flight out Christmas Day.

Santa came! He brought Haven three presents, but next year Santa will have to plan better. He (or she) picked the wrapping paper and then ran out, so not all three presents are in the same paper. Maybe next year he (or she) won't wrap them?!
Christmas morning! Since we flew out late-morning, Dutch went home with Grammy and Grandpa on Friday night, so he was missing. You may also notice that Mommy and Daddy are completely ready for the day with the exception of our pajamas. We knew we wouldn't have time to get ready if we waited until after the early morning festivities, so we got up, got ready and put our matching pajamas back on. Then we just had to change clothes and pickup while Haven took a nap.
Santa brought Skippy the Smart Pup. He seemed so cool at the North Pole, but he's kind of a bust out of the box.
We couldn't ask anyone to take us to the airport on Christmas day, so we had a car service pick us up. They arrived in a limo. Don't judge, we are already embarrassed enough, but I had to get a picture of Haven's first limo ride!
She thought she was so big time not in her car seat.
The airport wasn't too crowded, but our flight was completely full. Haven did pretty well on the flight with only one meltdown that was less than 10 minutes. She threw another fit (I can't even remember what it was over) in the El Paso airport, so I let her lay it out on the gross ground, and she threw a final whopper in the rental car when I was changing (or trying to) her diaper. That time she bit my arm so hard it left a big bruise. We had a small rental car fiasco - they gave us one with hand controls, which we of course didn't realize until after we were completely loaded, car seat installed, buckled, and all. Haven was very wiped by the time we got on the road, but she doesn't go down without a fight. I did get her to go to sleep, but it only lasted for about half the trip. Then she cried/screamed on and off for the second half. Once we got to the ranch she was immediately greeted with two bouncing happy dogs which made for an immediately very happy little girl!

We took her out to the barn first thing Sunday morning. Her jeans and boots might were a little snug, so it was hard for her to walk, but she was warm and looked cute :)
Sitting on Bo. She wasn't too sure about the horses this time; I think they were too big.
Pop worked really hard to get the horses to stick their heads thru the feeding windows, but they just wouldn't cooperate.

Attempting a grandchild pic...not so successfully
Monday was Blakely's 5th birthday, so Haven and Daddy shared a pink cupcake. Haven did not think they should share.
We headed back home early Tuesday morning and Haven was great! She was awake for the entire trip, but did well in the car and the best she's ever done on the plane. It's always good to be home sweet home!
